Unsung Heroes Kakuma (UHK) is a refugee youth-led, community-based organization working in Kakuma Refugee Camp and surrounding host communities. UHK’s mission is to empower refugee and host-community youth-especially women aged 18-35—towards self-reliance through innovation, leadership development, market-relevant skills training, entrepreneurship support, and social cohesion.
COMMUNITY BASED ORGANIZATION
Although UHK was established in 2023 and formally registered in December 2025 (CBO Registration No. DSD/23/124/02/167278), the organization has been actively contributing to development and mentorship initiatives since 2024 and is connected to the broader international Unsung Heroes network.
